Who can enter the Books From Children To Children competition?

All children aged 0–11 across the UK are eligible to enter. There is no minimum or maximum length requirement. Any style of writing is welcome — story, poem, or other creative form.

Is there an entry fee?

No. The competition is completely free to enter.

Does my entry need to be about Climate Change?

Yes — the 2026 theme is Climate Change. Entries that do not engage with this theme will not be eligible for the prize. Interpretation of the theme is broad — you can approach it in any way you choose.

Do I need parental consent?

Yes — a parent or guardian must consent to the entry. Entries without parental consent cannot be considered. Details are in the full competition guidelines.

When will winners be announced?

We aim to contact shortlisted authors by November 2026. All entrants will be notified of the outcome.
