House of Lords
The British Citizen Youth Award is the young person's equivalent of an MBE. Jayce was the youngest recipient among 20 outstanding youths recognised at the House of Lords. The medal recognises sustained, selfless contribution to community — in Jayce's case, founding an independent press, donating books to underserved schools, and inspiring 1,000+ children through workshops and storytime sessions.
Blue Peter, BBC
The highest Blue Peter honour and one of the most prestigious recognitions a young person in Britain can receive. Past recipients include HM Queen Elizabeth II, JK Rowling, Sir David Attenborough, and Marcus Rashford. Jayce is one of the youngest ever recipients. The badge features on the back cover of Our Stories, Our World.
British Mensa
Top 0.1% for his age group. Assessed by Lyn Kendall, British Mensa's Gifted Child Consultant, at age 4 years 11 months. Jayce is also a member of Potential Plus UK, a charity supporting gifted children and their families. Mensa membership is one of the more recognisable signals of his cognitive profile, but Jayce and his family are clear: the numbers are not the story.
World's Youngest Author to Publish a Book Series Simultaneously
On World Book Day 2023, at age 4 years 10 months, Jayce published Jayce's Sweet Tooth and A Beach With No Sea simultaneously — and was officially recognised by the International Book of Records as the world's youngest author to publish a book series at the same time. A formal Guinness World Record application is also in progress for Our Stories, Our World.
House of Commons · BYITC Inspire Awards
One of 28 outstanding young people recognised at the Houses of Parliament as part of the BYITC Inspire Awards programme. The Laureate distinction recognises young people whose work shows exceptional promise for sustained national impact.
Academic & Scribe categories
Dual recognition in two TruLittle Hero categories: Academic (for cognitive achievement) and Scribe (for written work). The TruLittle Hero programme celebrates exceptional UK children making a real-world difference in their fields.
Potential Unlocked Awards
National recognition for published works and Jayce's contribution to children's literacy in the UK. Awarded by Potential Unlocked, an organisation championing exceptional young achievers across academia, the arts, and community service.
University of Oxford
Youngest finalist at the international gathering of literacy leaders held at the University of Oxford. The World Literacy Summit brings together academics, educators, and authors from across the world to share work advancing literacy and access to books.
Kids Category · Hosted by Dr Ronx (BBC)
Finished second in the country at the National Spelling Bee 2025 (kids category). Hosted by Dr Ronx, BBC TV presenter — a televised event Jayce qualified for through regional rounds.
City of Birmingham · Cllr Ken Wood
Civic recognition for Jayce's contribution to children's literacy in Birmingham, presented by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham at a city-hosted ceremony.
Municipal Authority · Cllr James Lancaster
The Deputy Mayor of Milton Keynes presented his chain of office to Jayce during a civic visit recognising Jayce's reach into communities beyond Birmingham.
